Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 18 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and JustTeia when you buy from this website. We have written them in plain language because most of the people reading them are parents buying toys, not lawyers. Please read them before you order, especially the parts in bold, which are the ones that limit what we are responsible for or that affect your safety.

Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (the CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). If these terms and the law ever disagree, the law wins.

1. Who we are

JustTeia is a small family business. The toys are designed by Teia and 3D printed in Johannesburg, South Africa.

  • Trading name: JustTeia
  • Legal name: available on request
  • Registration number: available on request
  • Physical address, also our address for legal notices: available on request
  • Email: hallo@justteia.com
  • Phone: available on request
  • Website: justteia.com

2. Who can buy

You must be 18 or older to place an order, or be ordering with the permission of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms and is responsible for the order. Children are very welcome to browse and make wish lists. Please ask a grown up to do the checkout.

3. Our products, and what 3D printing means for you

Every toy is printed to order, one at a time, from PLA plastic. That is what lets us offer custom colours and small batches, and it also means:

  • You will see fine layer lines on the surface. They are how a 3D printer builds a shape, not a defect.
  • Colours can differ slightly between batches of filament, and from what your screen shows.
  • Sizes can vary by a millimetre or two. The measurements in each product’s size guide are approximate.
  • Small marks where supports were removed, and tiny differences between two of the same animal, are normal.

None of the above counts as a fault. Anything that stops the toy working as it should, like a joint that will not move, a missing piece or a crack, is a fault, and section 9 covers what happens then.

4. Safety. Please read this part

Our toys contain small parts and are not suitable for children under 3. Flexi animals, fidgets and anything with moving joints can break into small pieces that are a choking hazard.

  • Adult supervision is needed for young children. Check toys regularly and throw away anything that is cracked or broken.
  • Do not put the toys in your mouth, and do not use them for food or drink. They are not food safe.
  • Keep them away from heat. PLA softens in direct sun, in a hot car or near a heater, and a softened toy can bend out of shape or snap.
  • Keep them away from pets that chew.
  • Bend flexi animals only within their natural movement. Forcing a joint past its limit can snap it.

The same warning is shown on every product page and in the footer of this website. The care instructions have more detail.

5. Prices and payment

  • All prices are in South African Rand.
  • Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you pay. The total at checkout is the total you pay.
  • Buy more, save more discounts are applied automatically in your basket, as shown on the product page. Some products, like party packs, are already priced in bulk and are excluded.
  • Payment is taken when you place your order. Card payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
  • If a price on the site is obviously wrong, for example because of a typing mistake, we will contact you before we make anything. You can then pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

6. Your order

When you order, you get an email confirming we have received it. If we cannot make something, for example because a colour has run out, we will contact you to offer an alternative or a full refund. You will never be charged for something we cannot supply.

7. Making and delivery

  • Because every piece is printed for your order, please allow 2 to 5 business days before your order is dispatched. Custom and party orders can take longer, and we will give you a date when you order.
  • We deliver in South Africa with The Courier Guy, to a locker or to your door. You choose at checkout.
  • Delivery times are estimates from the courier, not guarantees. If your order is late, contact us and we will chase it.
  • Please check your delivery details carefully. If a parcel goes to a wrong address or locker that you gave us, the cost of sending it again is yours.
  • The goods are your responsibility once they are delivered to you, or placed in the locker you chose and the collection code is sent to you.

8. Changing your mind

Before we start printing: contact us and we will cancel your order and refund you in full.

After delivery, for standard products: under section 44 of ECTA you can cancel within 7 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. Send the items back unused and in their original packaging. The only cost to you is the direct cost of returning them. We refund you within 30 days of your cancellation, and usually much sooner.

This does not apply to custom or personalised orders. Anything made to your own specifications, such as a colour you asked for that is not one of our listed options, a name, a custom design or a custom party favour order, cannot be returned for a change of mind, because section 42 of ECTA excludes goods made to the consumer’s specifications. Custom orders are still covered if they arrive faulty or wrong, as set out below.

9. Faulty, damaged or wrong items

Under section 56 of the CPA, if something you bought from us is faulty, unsafe, not fit for its purpose or not what you ordered, you can return it within 6 months of delivery. We will then repair it, replace it or refund you, as the CPA allows. For faulty items we pay for the return delivery.

If a parcel arrives damaged, please tell us as soon as you can, ideally within 48 hours, with photos of the item and the packaging, and keep the packaging until we have sorted it out. Telling us quickly helps us claim from the courier. It does not shorten your rights.

These are not faults: normal wear and tear, damage from heat, joints bent past their natural movement, damage from dropping, chewing or misuse, and the normal 3D printing characteristics described in section 3.

More detail, and how to send us a claim, is on the returns and refunds page.

10. Custom orders and your ideas

  • If you send us a design, picture, logo or name to use, you confirm that you are allowed to use it. We may decline anything that uses someone else’s characters, brands or artwork without permission.
  • For custom and party orders we will confirm the details, colours and price with you before we print. Once you have approved them and printing has started, the order cannot be cancelled, except for a fault.
  • Designs we create for you stay ours unless we agree otherwise in writing, but the toys we make you are yours to keep, give away or sell on.

11. Our designs and content

The designs, photos, text and logos on this website belong to JustTeia or to the designers we license them from. You may not copy them, print them or sell them without our written permission.

12. Reviews

We love reading reviews. Please keep them honest and kind. We may remove reviews that are offensive, share someone’s personal information or have nothing to do with the product.

13. What we are responsible for

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not taking reasonable care.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for loss caused by using a toy against the safety guidance in section 4. Our total responsibility for any order is limited to what you paid for it.

None of this limits our responsibility for death or injury caused by our negligence, for harm caused by unsafe or defective goods under section 61 of the CPA, for gross negligence or fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

14. Your personal information

We only use your information to run your order and this website. The privacy policy explains what we collect and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, and the cookie policy explains the cookies this website uses.

15. Complaints

If something is not right, please talk to us first at hallo@justteia.com. We are a small business and we want to fix it.

If we cannot agree, you can take your complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) at www.cgso.org.za, or to the National Consumer Commission.

16. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.
