This policy explains what personal information JustTeia collects, why, who sees it and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We collect as little as we can, and only what we need to make and deliver your order.
1. Who is responsible for your information

2. What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, billing address, delivery address or chosen locker, and what you ordered.
- If you create an account: your login details and order history.
- When you contact us or send a party enquiry: what you tell us, such as the date of the party, the number of guests and your theme.
- If you leave a review: the name you give and what you write.
- When you use the website: basic technical information such as your IP address and browser, and the cookies described in our cookie policy.
Payment card details are handled by our payment provider. They go straight to the provider and never reach us. We never see or store your full card number.
3. Why we use it
- To make, pack and deliver your order, and tell you how it is going.
- To answer your questions and party enquiries.
- To handle returns, refunds and faulty item claims.
- To keep the records that tax and consumer law require.
- To keep the website secure and stop fraud.
- To send you news and offers, but only if you have asked for them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
We process your information because we need it to perform our agreement with you, because the law requires it, or, for marketing and optional cookies, because you have agreed to it.
4. Children
We make toys for children, but our customers are adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If a child’s name is part of an order, for example on a party favour, it is given to us by the parent or guardian and used only to make that order.
If you think a child has given us personal information without permission, email us and we will delete it.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with the people who help us run the shop, and only what they need:
- The Courier Guy, to deliver your parcel: your name, phone number, email and delivery address or locker.
- Our payment provider, to take your payment.
- Our website host and email provider, who store the website and send our emails.
- Authorities, only when the law requires us to.
Some of these providers may store information on servers outside South Africa. When that happens, we only use providers that are bound by data protection laws or agreements that give your information protection similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
6. How long we keep it
We keep order records for five years, because tax law requires it. We delete enquiries that did not become orders, and everything else, when we no longer need it.
7. How we protect it
This website uses an encrypted connection (https). Access to order information is limited to the people who run JustTeia, and our accounts are protected with strong passwords. If there is ever a breach that affects your information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you can:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- ask us to correct it or delete it;
- object to us using it, including for marketing;
- withdraw any consent you have given, such as for marketing emails or optional cookies;
- complain to the Information Regulator.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za or by email to POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
